Local Health worker Training:
Dr. Yagya Prasad Timalsina has provided an online training on history taking and examinations to the health care workers of Government of Nepal ,in Solukhumbhu, Nepal, under the organization of AFN. There were 24 staffs, who had opportunity to learn and use the local scenarios to manage the medical condition on Jestha14,2081.
Capacity Building Training:
From Jestha 18 to Jestha 31, 2081, Ask Foundation conducted capacity-building training for Action For Nepal’s healthcare workers. Two doctors from Ask Foundation provided on-site training in rural Solukhumbu (Waku, Chheskam, and Taksindu). The training was successful, imparting knowledge and experiences to enable local healthcare workers to support their communities.
From Baishak 15 to Baishak 23, 2081, Ask Foundation conducted capacity-building training for CAN’s healthcare workers. Four doctors from Ask Foundation provided on-site training in rural Gorkha (Chum Valley and Nubri Valley). The event was very successful, imparting knowledge and experiences to enable local healthcare workers to support their communities.

A webinar on March 22nd, led by Dr. Uday, focused on Social Prescription, providing enlightening insights.
Presentation
Teach4Nepal: On Jestha 10, 2081, Ask Foundation presented its work, scopes, and future plans in the health system of Nepal to global health students from the USA and Nepal under Teach4Nepal. The presentation inspired participants from both countries.
Infection Control Presentation and Workshop
In January 2017, an Infection Control Presentation and Workshop was held at Grande Hospital, in collaboration with NCCDF under the leadership of ASK Foundation. The workshop covered the preparation of antiseptics and disinfectants, training on isolation types, proper use of N-95 masks, aseptic gloving techniques, hospital waste management, avoiding cross-contamination, collecting microbiological samples, antibiotic stewardship, and interpreting antibiograms. Lectures on multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria and MDR TB were also given. Approximately 100 participants, primarily nursing staff, lab technicians, and a few physicians, attended.
Case Discussion Forum
In April 2017, a multispecialty case discussion platform was launched, providing free access for medical personnel to share clinical opinions and experiences.
Educational Activities
In December 2016, a library setup was completed at Nalang Model Academy in Nalang, Dhading, with furniture and books donated by Kathmandu Valley Public Library and Nepal Library Association. A school bus, sports equipment, and an LCD projector were also donated to the academy. Additionally, ASK Foundation sponsored the 6th President Running Shield Sports Competition in January 2017 and donated funds to the Snow Yak Foundation for educational upliftment in upper Dolpo.
1st Annual ASK CME and Training (AACMET)
On October 1, 2016, at the Grande Hospital Conference Hall, a Multispecialty CME and hands-on training program was conducted in collaboration with NADEM, NCCDF, Grande Hospital, and local physicians. The program targeted around 100 rural and primary care physicians, most of whom worked in Primary Health Care Centers in remote areas of Nepal. Training included intubation and thoracentesis by local critical care physicians, adult and pediatric BLS training, and software training for telemedicine coordinators. Laptops were distributed to telemedicine centers in Bajura, Mumra (Kalikot), and Shipkhana (Kalikot), along with N-95 masks and health education videos.

An interactive Post Covid-19 Rehabilitation webinar was held on 25th Sep 2021 by Dietician Sunita Dhungana, Dr. Sangita Shrestha and Dr. Prabhat Adhikari.
ASK Foundation, in collaboration with Covid Alliance for Nepal, organized a webinar on “A Multidimensional Approach to Pandemic - Nepal’s Scientific Perspective” on 29 May 2021, Saturday, at 4:45 PM (NST). The webinar featured experts from their respective fields who shared scientific talks on five different topics, each lasting 10 minutes, followed by a Q&A session.
On Saturday, May 30, 2020, we hosted an in-depth webinar for doctors and nurses, guiding participants through a virtual patient journey from Emergency to ICU and discharge. The session covered practical scenarios such as isolation policies, correct use of PPE, emergency and ICU care, PPE reuse, and sterilization practices. International and national experts in Infectious Diseases and Critical Care led the discussions. The webinar was broadcast live on the ASK Foundation and ANMF pages from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Nepal Time.
A crucial training webinar for nurses in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis was conducted on On Saturday, May 23, 2020. Recognizing the vital role of nurses as frontline workers, the ASK Foundation collaborated with the America Nepal Medical Foundation (ANMF) to deliver this training. The session featured nursing leaders and on-field nurses from the USA, who shared their firsthand experiences and protocols for managing COVID-19 patients. Our Nepali counterparts also contributed by discussing their own experiences and concerns. The webinar was broadcast live on the ASK Nepal account and the ANMF page at 8:30 PM Nepal Time.
